The reception on the ground floor will also be serving tea, coffee and other refreshments to all our guests who wish to relax and unwind after a long journey or a full day of sightseeing around town.

We Speak Your Language

Ebisu Ryokan employs a truly international group of people, with both native English and Chinese, as well as Japanese speaking staff on site. On most days we also have Korean, Thai and Indonesian speaking staff available via phone who will will gladly provide interpreting services between you and our onsite staff.

Pocket Wi-Fi and Android Tablet Renting

You can rent a Pocket Wi-Fi or an Android Tablet or both at our front desk. You can use the device freely during your stay but have to give it back the day before your check-out

Please note that failure to return the device will cost you 9,000 JPY/device.

Cancellation Policy

A 10% non-refundable deposit applies to all reservations and will be charged to the credit card provided upon booking. The balance of the accommodation fee will be charged 5 days before check-in and is non-refundable. However, you may modify your reservation without penalty up until 6 days before your arrival.
For peak season reservations, 100% of the accommodation fee will be charged upon booking and is non-refundable. Please contact us for a complete list of this year’s peak season

In order to maintain the tranquility of a traditional ryokan setting, Ebisu Ryokan regretfully DOES NOT accommodate child under 3 years of age.
ONE child 3 to 6 years of age may stay for free when sharing existing bedding and towels. Children 6+ years of age will incur the same fee as an adult.

Kyoto City Accommodation Tax

Kyoto City will impose a municipal accommodation tax on all guests staying within Kyoto City limits starting on October 1, 2018.
The tax will be levied on guests staying at accommodation facilities/residences which accept accommodation fee.
This tax will be imposed on those staying at any facilities accepting money for accommodation as stipulated in the Hotel and Ryokan Management Law.
This includes hotels, ryokans, simple accommodations, as wells as residence rentals stipulated in the Private Lodging Business Law.
The accommodation fee will be charged upon your arrival, and will vary according your room rate following the chart below:
